Wisconsin Electronics Retailer To Close All Stores Across The State
A new state notice reveals what is happening at locations in more than a dozen Wisconsin communities.
WISCONSIN — A Wisconsin electronics retailer and U.S. Cellular authorized agent plans to permanently close all of its retail stores this summer, according to a new state layoff notice.
Cell.Plus, LLC told state officials that 66 employees will be affected by the closures. Separations are expected on or before July 31.
The company said in its WARN notice that it will “permanently close all retail locations and wind down operations” following the non-renewal of its agent operating agreement.

Cell.Plus is based in Baraboo and is listed as a U.S. Cellular authorized agent.
The company’s notice was dated April 29 and received by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development on May 5.

The affected locations and employee counts are:
- Baraboo: 13 employees
- Wisconsin Dells: 5 employees
- La Crosse: 4 employees
- Black River Falls: 3 employees
- Mauston: 5 employees
- Adams: 4 employees
- Wautoma: 3 employees
- Sparta: 4 employees
- Holmen: 3 employees
- Viroqua: 2 employees
- Shawano: 3 employees
- Chilton: 4 employees
- Richland Center: 3 employees
- Spring Green: 1 employee
- Reedsburg: 3 employees
- Suamico: 1 employee
- Seymour: 2 employees
- Two Rivers: 3 employees
The largest number of affected workers is in Baraboo, where 13 employees are listed in the notice.
Cell.Plus said employees do not have bumping rights, and the affected workers are not represented by a union.
The company did not provide additional details in the notice beyond the non-renewal of its agent operating agreement.
Wisconsin’s business closing and mass layoff law requires covered employers to give advance notice before certain business closings or layoffs.
