• What would you do with an old fire station? Algoma wants to know (doorcountydailynews.com) — Algoma is asking residents and developers for ideas on reusing the soon-to-be-vacant downtown fire station, with proposals due October 1 and a minimum bid of $150,000. City Administrator Matt Murphy says they’re prioritizing community value over just the highest offer, eyeing options like restaurants, breweries, offices, or mixed-use space.

• Plenty of August fishing options - Kewaunee County Star News (kewauneecountystarnews.com) — Anglers are enjoying strong Lake Michigan action off Algoma, including trophy lake trout caught on local charter boats. In two weeks, Algoma will host the annual Shanty Days Fishing Contest with youth and adult categories, with tickets available soon at Algoma Citgo and Graf’s Mobil alongside broader Wisconsin hunting and fishing updates.
