📰 News we're reading
• Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Crash Results in Fatality in Polk County (drydenwire.com) — An 80-year-old Amery resident died after being struck by a pickup while crossing Keller Avenue South near the Sports and More store on Sunday evening, despite extensive lifesaving efforts at the scene and Amery Hospital. Police say the man was not in a crosswalk and that low-light conditions contributed, and multiple agencies from Amery and Polk County continue to investigate the crash.

• Fiddlehead Kitchen Opens in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin (stcroixvalleymag.com) — Two chefs who first connected while working at Farm Table Restaurant in Amery have opened Fiddlehead Kitchen in downtown St. Croix Falls, continuing their focus on seasonal, locally sourced food. The new spot, part of a broader revival in St. Croix Falls, offers rotating globally inspired menus, Burger Night Wednesdays, and a welcoming, community-centered atmosphere that many Amery-area diners may want to explore.
