• Menasha Corporation commits $1M to Appleton-Menasha tornado recovery (postcrescent.com) — Appleton-area residents recovering from the July 27 tornado will see a major boost, as Menasha Corporation is donating $1 million over two years for relief and rebuilding. An initial $250,000 goes to the Community Response Fund, with the rest supporting long-term recovery for affected families, employees, and local businesses across the Fox Valley.
   

• Shirley M. Coulter (Denham) (waupacanow.com) — Family and friends are mourning Shirley M. Coulter, 90, who passed away peacefully on August 20 at Dimensions Living in Appleton. A longtime educator and children's science advocate, she spent decades teaching in Wisconsin schools, later quilting for charity and supporting libraries and humane societies; her family offers special thanks to Appleton caregivers.
