An initial $250,000 goes to the Community Response Fund, with the rest supporting long-term recovery for affected families, employees, and local businesses across the Fox Valley.

A longtime educator and children's science advocate, she spent decades teaching in Wisconsin schools, later quilting for charity and supporting libraries and humane societies; her family offers special thanks to Appleton caregivers.
