Evers, WisDOT Announce Support for 49 Projects to Improve Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities, Trail Projects, and Support Safer Routes to School Across the State (silentsportsmagazine.com) — Appleton is set to receive nearly $750,000 in federal funds for the new Southpoint Powerline Trail, expanding safe biking and walking options in the city. The grant is part of a $32 million statewide package from Gov. Evers and WisDOT to improve trails, sidewalks, and Safe Routes to School projects in dozens of Wisconsin communities.

Appleton police arrest driver after rollover crash with children in vehicle (wbay.com) — Appleton police arrested a driver after a rollover crash left a vehicle upside down in shallow water off a local highway, with two improperly secured children miraculously unhurt. All occupants were evaluated at a hospital, and police are using the incident to stress planning sober rides and avoiding drunk driving in Appleton.
