Wolf and Fox rivers host the final test of the 2026 Kayak Series season (bassmaster.com) — Competitive kayak anglers will converge on Appleton as the Newport Bassmaster Kayak Series holds its regular-season finale on the Wolf and Fox Rivers Aug. 22–23. Launching from public access points around Appleton-area lakes and rivers, participants will chase both largemouth and smallmouth bass while vying for Angler of the Year points and championship berths.

Downtown Appleton will 'Light the Night' on Aug. 28 (wbay.com) — Downtown Appleton will come alive on Friday, Aug. 28, when Appleton Downtown, Inc. turns the area into a free open-air Light the Night Market from 5 to 10 p.m. Expect performances at Houdini Plaza, local vendors, food trucks, cultural acts, and hands-on activities designed to showcase and celebrate Appleton's downtown.
