Coach Gary Stevens is optimistic, highlighting senior leaders and a standout junior aiming for strong conference and state tournament runs despite early weather setbacks and tough regional opponents.

• Esko superintendent finalists named (pinejournal.com) — Ashland High School principal Brian Trettin is one of three finalists to become the next superintendent of Esko Public Schools in Minnesota, with public interviews set for May 6. Esko’s school board plans to interview each candidate that evening and could choose a new superintendent, who would start July 1, immediately after the final interview.
