WNAXLP (RLC Sept 30, Oct 7 & 14, 2026) (leadertelegram.com) — Residents connected to the estate of Donald Robert Bergstrom should know that creditors have until January 6, 2027, to file claims in Barron County Circuit Court. The informal probate is being handled at the Barron County Justice Center, and all interested persons have already waived further notice.
   

2. Fall Cleanup Day Saturday in Barron (news-shield.com) — Barron residents have a chance to clear out bulky household items during the city's Fall Cleanup Day this Saturday, Oct. 3, from 7 a.m. to noon at the City Street Shop on East Taylor Avenue. You'll need to haul your own acceptable items, like furniture and bagged yard waste, while things like tires, appliances, electronics, and hazardous materials won't be taken.
   

3. Wisconsin Youth Take Home Top Honors at World Dairy Expo's Junior Holstein Show (midwestfarmreport.com) — Young exhibitors from Barron are celebrating after Kaylee and Carter Jackson showed the Winter Yearling that won Junior Champion at the 2026 International Junior Holstein Show in Madison. Their success, alongside several Whitewater competitors and a Wisconsin judge, highlights strong local representation on one of the dairy industry's biggest youth stages.
   

4. Rails, Lakers at Barron Cross Country (gazettextra.com) — Barron recently hosted the Barron Invitational Cross Country Meet, bringing in teams like the Spooner Rails and Shell Lake Lakers for a full day of racing. While the story highlights individual finishes for visiting runners, it also underscores Barron's role as a regional hub for high school cross country competition and community sporting events.
   

5. USDA Designates 5 Wisconsin Counties as Natural Disaster Areas (usda.gov) — Farmers in Barron County are now eligible for USDA emergency loans after drought conditions led to a federal natural disaster designation for nearby primary counties. Local producers can apply through the Farm Service Agency to replace equipment or livestock, reorganize operations, or refinance certain debts, with applications due by May 17, 2027.
