• Beloit man accused of firing machine gun in car during traffic stop (gazettextra.com) — A 21-year-old Beloit man is facing multiple felony charges after police say a modified handgun fired inside a car during a May 26 traffic stop on 6th Street in Beloit. Officers later recovered the weapon, ammunition, and other items, and prosecutors have now filed machine-gun and related counts in Rock County Court. 
• Suárez, Chiefs fly past Beloit in opener (milb.com) — Beloit’s own Sky Carp were routed 11–1 by the Peoria Chiefs in Tuesday’s series opener, with Peoria breaking it open in a six-run fourth inning. The series continues Wednesday night at Dozer Park, featuring discount concessions and a dog-friendly promotion for fans making the trip or tuning in online.
• DWD Awards Over $2 Million in Wisconsin Fast Forward Training Grants (wisconsin.gov) — A new state worker-training grant will help Beloit Health System Foundation and partners move several local EMTs into full-time paramedic roles, with higher wages. The funding is part of more than $2.4 million in Wisconsin Fast Forward grants supporting over 1,000 workers statewide in health care, manufacturing, construction, agriculture, and transportation.
