The Elmbrook Education Foundation (EEF) announces Elmbrook Connect, an initiative to raise money to provide reliable internet access for approximately one hundred students who are using hotspots to support virtual learning and regular homework needs due to a lack of reliable internet in their home.

Beth Dobrzynski, Elmbrook Education Foundation Executive Director, said, “Sponsorships are available, donations are accepted for our silent auction, and join our virtual Fun Run/Walk on November 23-30th. It’s timed perfectly for the Thanksgiving holiday.”

Elmbrook Schools offer top-notch educational opportunities to students. However, the current economic and health crisis is creating a barrier for learning. Approximately 100 students are using hotspots to support virtual learning and regular homework needs due to a lack of Wi-Fi in their homes. Elmbrook is raising money to provide significantly discounted Spectrum Wi-Fi to students in need.

Dobrzynski continued, “We have opted for a virtual event, and teams can sign up at https://EBConnect.givesmart.com to complete their team run/walk. Registration fee is $10 per person using the GiveSmart platform. Students experiencing hardship will be able to get assistance through PTO to participate. Prizes will be awarded to the team completing the most miles, school completing the most miles, school with the highest participation, class with largest participation, and team with the best costume/theme. And, BEHS and BCHS students created and voted on a t-shirt design for the event.”

EEF was organized in 1958 to award scholarships to select Elmbrook School District high school graduates. In 1999, the Foundation's mission expanded to include teacher grants for innovative projects that benefit all students and raise money to support and strengthen outstanding learning ideas that improve the overall educational quality of our public schools. EEF has awarded over $1,300,000 in scholarships and $425,000 in grants which enhance and extend the established curriculum and support projects that are beyond the District's budget.
