Katie Havener and Richard Gebhart Join R.A. Smith National

Katie Havener and Richard Gebhart have joined R.A. Smith National as civil engineers, Havener in the land development services division serving the private sector and Gebhart in the municipal services division. Havener and Gebhart both held co-op positions with the firm while earning their bachelor's degrees. R.A. Smith National is a multi-disciplined civil and structural engineering and surveying firm — headquartered in Brookfield, Wis. with offices nationwide.

Havener recently earned her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She assists project managers with the design, drafting and permitting of various projects. Her experience includes the design of grading, storm water management, water main, sanitary sewer and paving plans. She has worked on a variety of projects including Mayfair Mall (Wauwatosa, Wis.), Portillo’s (Brookfield, Wis. and Gurnee, Ill.) and Jersey Gardens Mall (Elizabeth, N.J.).

Gebhart recently earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His responsibilities are primarily focused on sanitary sewer flow monitoring which includes assistance in the collection of data, processing, GIS mapping and analysis, and the report preparation process. He has worked on projects for the cities of Appleton and Waukesha, among other municipal clients. Gebhart also has experience in providing construction observation, construction inspection and culvert inspection.
