• Crandon woman charged with theft from Forest County Humane Society appears in court Tuesday (wjfw.com) — A Crandon woman has been charged with felony theft in connection with more than $44,000 in allegedly fraudulent credit card purchases while serving as treasurer for the Forest County Humane Society. Investigators say suspicious transactions stopped after she left the board, and she has begun partial repayment. She’s free on a $5,000 signature bond and is due back in court July 15.
