THE LARAMIE PROJECT

Nicolet Theatre presents THE LARAMIE PROJECT

In October of 1998 Matthew Shepard, a gay college student at the University of Wyoming at Laramie was kidnapped, taken to the Wyoming prairie, tied to a fence, severely beaten and left to die.Β  World-wide attention was focused on Laramie while Matthew was hospitalized.

The Tectonic Theatre Project traveled to Laramie and conducted over 200 interviews--some directly related to the case; others with citizens of Laramie.Β  Their reactions to the crime were fascinating.Β  THE LARAMIE PROJECT is
a collection of these interviews and has become a breathtaking collage that explores the depths to which humanity can sink and the heights of compassion of
which we are capable.
