Glendale Seniors Club Begins New Year
Lots of new activities and programs planned for the coming year of the Glendale Senior Citizens' Club
The first general membership meeting of the Glendale Senior Citizens’ Club will begin at 1:30 p.m., September 9, in the clubroom on the lower level of Glen Hills Middle School, 2600 W. Mill Road. Those in attendance will share memories of the years 1945-55. Refreshments, as always, follow the program. Area seniors are invited to become members. Dues are $15; members receive a newsletter in alternate months.
The club has a beautiful clubroom especially designed for seniors, with full kitchen, restroom facilities, large-screen television, lending library, and elevator access. The club has meetings on the second Wednesday of each month and sponsors day tours trips to plays and Brewer games. There are active groups devoted to bowling, bridge, sheepshead, and book discussion. The club has summer and winter picnics, an Oktoberfest celebration, and December holiday and March club anniversary dinners at local restaurants.
In the plans for the coming year are trips to see “Of Mice and Men” and the John Denver revue at the Rep. The holiday dinner will be at Libby Montana‘s. For information about the club and membership, call (414) 540-2100.
