Nicolet Rec. Dept. Offering "Power of Attorney"

The "Power" of a Power of Attorney: Health Care & Financial POAs Explained!

Upon incapacity, someone must be appointed to make financial and health care decisions for the incapacitated person, whether through Powers of Attorney (POAs) or a court-appointed guardianship process. These are difficult circumstances, and making an informed decision in choosing a POA for yourself (and avoiding guardianship) is critical. Just as critical is understanding the responsibilities you may hold as a POA or guardianship in making decisions on behalf of an incapacitated loved one. We will discuss the financial and legal aspects of what acting as a guardian or POA actually entails.
