On September 9 at 1:30 p.m. area seniors share memories of the post-WWII era, 1945-1955, at the first general meeting of the Glendale Senior Citizen’s Club, located on the lower level of Glen Hills Middle School, 2600 W. Mill Road. Bring letters, magazines, clothing, records, or anything interesting from that era to share. Recall the first use of the atomic bomb, soldiers coming home, and shortages of housing, cars, and appliances. We had a coal strike, music with 45 rpm and 33 rpm “long-playing” records, polio quarantines, and the Korean War. Birthday cake and ice cream will be served after the program. Nonmembers are always welcome at club events. Free. Call (414) 540-2100 with questions.
