1. $2 Million Emilie Park Project aims to reduce flooding in Green Bay (wearegreenbay.com) — Green Bay is moving ahead with a $2 million plan to restore wetlands at Emilie Park, aiming to reduce East River flooding and capture neighborhood stormwater. The project, half funded by grants and potentially starting in 2027, is part of a broader watershed effort including new flood gauges and additional park work to protect homes, recreation areas, and local water quality.
2. Green Bay community members, officials discuss homelessness concerns at community meeting (wbay.com) — Green Bay residents packed a community meeting to confront rising concerns about homelessness, safety, and recent bathroom closures in several east side parks. City officials, police, and service coordinators discussed balancing public safety with basic needs, while new data show 556 people experiencing homelessness in Brown County, including more than 200 living outdoors.
3. Pulaski historical society to honor Boyea Painting for work on Polish church (fox11online.com) — A Green Bay family business, Boyea Painting, is being honored for carefully restoring the exterior of Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church in nearby Pulaski, using meticulous hand-scraping and painting techniques. New tagging tech tracks falcons around Peninsula (doorcountydailynews.com) — A young peregrine falcon named Gino Falcone, hatched at a WPS plant in Port Washington, is now frequenting the Bay of Green Bay and Door County cliffs, tracked by ultra-light solar-powered tags. Wisconsin Public Service and researchers are using this new technology to better understand endangered peregrines' early-life movements and improve both wildlife protection and power-plant operations across the region.
