1. $2 Million Emilie Park Project aims to reduce flooding in Green Bay (wearegreenbay.com) — Green Bay is moving ahead with a $2 million plan to restore wetlands at Emilie Park, aiming to reduce East River flooding and capture neighborhood stormwater. The project, half funded by grants and potentially starting in 2027, is part of a broader watershed effort including new flood gauges and additional park work to protect homes, recreation areas, and local water quality.

2. Green Bay community members, officials discuss homelessness concerns at community meeting (wbay.com) — Green Bay residents packed a community meeting to confront rising concerns about homelessness, safety, and recent bathroom closures in several east side parks. 4. Sustainably Speaking: Fall gardening tips to protect insects for the winter (wearegreenbay.com) — If you garden in the Green Bay area, experts suggest leaving some fallen leaves and plant stems in place this fall to shelter beneficial insects through winter. Light cleanup, strategic leaf mulching, and a few "messy" corners can support butterflies, bees, and other pollinators, and you can find more local tips through the Green Bay Botanical Garden.

5. New tagging tech tracks falcons around Peninsula (doorcountydailynews.com) — A young peregrine falcon named Gino Falcone, hatched at a WPS plant in Port Washington, is now frequenting the Bay of Green Bay and Door County cliffs, tracked by ultra-light solar-powered tags. Wisconsin Public Service and researchers are using this new technology to better understand endangered peregrines' early-life movements and improve both wildlife protection and power-plant operations across the region.
