Congressman Nygren's Daughter Arrested In Overdose Death
Cassandra Nygren's prior struggles with drugs spurred her father to offer multiple bills aimed at drugs and drug addiction over the years.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin state lawmaker's daughter is under arrest for possible involvement in an overdose death. Cassandra Nygren, 28, was being held Wednesday in the Brown County jail on suspicion of first-degree reckless homicide/deliver drugs and manufacture/delivery of heroin, among other charges.
Formal charges aren't expected before Thursday.
Brown County Chief Deputy Todd Delain told USA Today Network-Wisconsin that Nygren and a 33-year-old man were arrested in a recent drug death. Delain would not say who overdosed.

Nygren's prior struggles with drugs spurred her father, Republican Rep. John Nygren of Marinette, to offer multiple bills aimed at drugs and drug addiction over the years.
Rep. Nygren's office said he was traveling Wednesday and not immediately available for comment. It wasn't clear whether his daughter had an attorney to comment on the allegations.
