Green Bay Residents Must Make Property Tax Payments At City Hall

Beginning this tax year, all Green Bay residents must remit their property taxes to the City of Green Bay, 100 N. Jefferson, Room 106.

Green Bay, WI — Beginning this tax year, all City of Green Bay Residents must remit their property taxes to the City of Green Bay, 100 N. Jefferson, Room 106. The City urges residents to carefully read their tax bills.

The City will accept either the full amount, or the first installment at City Hall. The due date for either the full amount or the first installment is January 31, 2020. On-time payments are without charge. A late payment on the first installment (due 1/31/20) will result in a cancellation of the installment option, and a monthly charge for interest calculated, on the unpaid balance, beginning on February 1, 2020, as required by state law.

There are four ways to pay your taxes: in-person, the night deposit box, United States mail, or online. If paying in person, please note the following dates and times:

  • Monday through Friday, December 9, 2019 to January 31, 2020 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Tuesday, December 24 8:00 am to 12 noon
  • Wednesday, December 25 CLOSED
  • Tuesday, December 31, 2019 8 am to 4:30 pm
  • Wednesday January 1, 2020 CLOSED

During tax season, there will be no-cost parking spaces (hooded meters) on the northeast side of City Hall.

Residents may also drop off tax payments in the night deposit box, located at 100 N. Jefferson, at the northeast entrance. This box is secure and is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Lastly, online payments are made through GovPay. The portal is located at www.greenbaywi.gov/taxes Residents may use a credit card, debit card or electronic check. Credit or debit cards will incur a 2.25% fee, and an electronic check is $1.00 per transaction. The City of Green Bay does not receive any portion of these fees.
