Packers Get Rare Thanksgiving Eve Game, Christmas Day Bears Matchup

GREEN BAY, WI — The Green Bay Packers’ 2026 schedule is out, and the strangest dates jump off the page: the NFL’s first Thanksgiving Eve game, and a Christmas Day matchup against the Chicago Bears.

Green Bay will open the regular season Sunday, Sept. 13, on the road against the Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium. The game is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. CT on CBS.

The oddest date comes in Week 12, when the Packers travel to Los Angeles to face the Rams on Wednesday, Nov. 25, the night before Thanksgiving. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT on Netflix.

The Packers will also play on Christmas Day, facing the Bears at Soldier Field on Friday, Dec. 25. That game is scheduled for noon CT on Netflix.

Green Bay’s bye week comes in Week 11, right before the Thanksgiving Eve trip to Los Angeles.

The schedule includes seven prime-time or streaming-only games, including two on Netflix.

The Packers’ preseason schedule includes road games against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos, followed by a home game against the Arizona Cardinals. Exact preseason dates and times have not been announced.

Several games could be changed under the NFL’s flexible scheduling rules. The Week 18 game against Detroit will be scheduled after Week 17.
