This year’s 4th of July celebration will again include the best parade in the area, tasty ice cream, delicious food, live music, and colorful fireworks.
Visitors to the celebration will find the Lions Club food and beer garden and the corn roast sponsored by the American Legion Post 416. Everyone can enjoy lively toe-tapping music at the Lions beer garden. And don't miss the fireworks at dusk (approximately 9:15 p.m.) on Monday from the area near the Greendale High School football stadium.
Starting at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 4th, participants will publicly read the Declaration of Independence at the flagpole in front of Village Hall.
The parade will be held on the 4th of July. It will start with the children’s parade at 9:45 a.m. with the remainder of the parade starting at 10:00 a.m. Due to construction in the Southridge area, line-up for this year’s event will be on the westbound lane of W. Grange Avenue at S. 68th Street. The parade will then travel to Northway, Northway to Broad Street, Broad Street to the high school. All children 10 years of age and under are encouraged to decorate their bikes (no motorized vehicles allowed) and participate in the children’s portion of the parade. Staging for the children’s parade will be at 9:00 a.m. in the St. Thomas of Canterbury Church parking lot. Immediately following the parade, a children’s ice cream treat will be available at the Jaycee Park baseball diamond.
