Greendale Man Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Charges

Suspect, 23, will have two of five charges dropped as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.

A Greendale man facing 125 years in prison for possession of child pornography has plead guilty to some of charges pending against him as part of a deal with prosecutors.

Matthew L. Schmidt, 23, plead guilty Thursday to three charges of possession of child pornography in Milwaukee County Circuit Court as part of a plea deal with prosecutors. As part of the deal, prosecutors dismissed two more charges of child pornography possession, lowering the maximum possible sentence by 50 years.

In November, Milwaukee Police Department officers and FBI officers found child pornography on Schmidt’s computer inside his home in the 7000 block of Dobson Court after executing a search warrant on the home.
