Kites Over Greendale Returns This Weekend
Expect to see kites flying high over Greendale this weekend. The festival will take place Sunday at Greendale Community Center Park.
GREENDALE, WI — If you see an unrecognizable creature flying over Greendale this upcoming weekend, you may be looking at the return of Kites Over Greendale.
The festival will bring stunt kites and other massive kites to the Greendale Community Center Park for a Sunday afternoon full of flying objects, the park posted on Facebook. Greendale's own Gift of Wings is hosting the event alongside the Lions Club and the Village's Parks and Recreation Department.
The larger kites will be put on display throughout the day.

Fifty free kites will be handed out to the first arrivals at the food tent. After the free kites are handed out by Gift of Wings, a competition will find out who has the best kite-flying skills. Whoever can get their kite highest in the air within a minute will win a free kite, the event page said.
A candy drop will take place at the event, and at 1 p.m., the craftier bunch can put their skills to the test by making their own kite, according to the event page.
