Goody's Restaurant Closed for Remodeling

It will remain closed for several weeks as the owner develops a new concept for the restaurant on the corner of Highway 100 and Layton Avenue.

A restaurant at one of Greenfield's busiest intersections is closed for remodeling, but when it reopens depends largely on when that remodeling actually begins.

(formerly Omega Restaurant), on the northwest corner of Highway 100 and Layton Avenue, has been closed for a couple weeks, according to owner Spiro Asimakopoulos. He said he is developing a new concept for the restaurant, and that remodeling could take 4-8 weeks from whenever that concept is settled on.

“Nowadays you need a concept, or a franchise name,” Asimakopoulos said. “It’s tough times right now for businesses. A lot of people have been asking (why are we closed). Just be patient, that’s all we ask.”

The restaurant stood as Omega for nearly two decades in late 2010.

Last December, the City of Greenfield denied Asimakopoulos to Goody’s, a few months after the city temporarily for health code violations.
