Fire Crews Respond to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Building
Journal Sentinel employees were evacuated from the downtown building Friday. Fire crews considered the call "closed" an hour later.

MILWAUKEE, WI -- Occupants of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Building at 333 W. State St. in Downtown Milwaukee, have evacuated their workplace environs Friday afternoon on a report of a fire inside the building.
Employees of the Journal Sentinel, the state's largest daily newspaper, were seen lining nearby streets as fire crews tended to the building and cordoned off nearby areas, as smoke was visible from the structure's third floor.
Update: According to information posted online by the Milwaukee Fire Department, the disposition of the fire call, which was placed at approximately 2:53 p.m. - had been "closed" approximately an hour later - signaling that the extent of the fire had been a minor one.
