š° News we're reading
⢠Wisconsin anglers organize against earlier northern musky opener (stevenspointjournal.com) ā Hayward anglers are helping lead a statewide push to roll back Wisconsinās new earlier, single-date musky opener, arguing it could stress spawning fish in northern waters like the Chippewa Flowage. While the DNR insists modern catch-and-release makes the change biologically safe, recent spring hearings in Sawyer and other counties show growing opposition that could take years to translate into a rule reversal.
