Cassie Wurm Wins WIAA Golf Regional; Hudson Qualifies for Sectional Meet

Senior Hudson golfer Cassie Wurm shot a 76 at Turtleback Golf & Country Club in Rice Lake to claim the WIAA Regional individual crown. , as a team, finished third and qualified for Sectionals.

Wurm out-paced Alex Wheeler and Leah Bauer of New Richmond, and Mari Pechacek of River Falls by seven strokes among individuals.

The Raiders, as a team, shot 374 and finished third behind River Falls (341) and New Richmond (346). Rice Lake finished fourth (387) and also qualified for sectionals.

The sectional meet will take place 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Forest Hills Golf Course in La Crosse.
