Five Hudson Swimmers Qualify for WIAA State Meet

Two relay teams and three individual performances swam fast enough to qualify for Wisconsin state meet in Madison next weekend.

Despite not winning a single race, the  swimming and diving team took home second place in the WIAA sectional meet held at the pool on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011. In the process, five Hudson swimmers qualified for the WIAA state meet to be held in Madison next weekend.

Hudson junior Charlie Skinner will compete in two individual events in Madison: the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard butterfly. Skinner was also a member of two relay teams that swam fast enough to qualify: the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Other members of the state-qualifying relay teams are seniors Winter JorgensenLondon Walsh and Luke Wusterbarth.

Sophomore Lucas Rukavina qualified in the 500-yard freestyle.

The Raiders as a team collected 320.5 points, which was good enough for second behind Eau Claire's 407.
