Hudson Girls Soccer Team Overcomes Seeding Snub by Beating Eau Claire North in WIAA Postseason
The Raiders will next face rival River Falls on Saturday for the right to advance to sectionals.

The Hudson High School girls soccer team defeated Eau Claire North 2-1 in a WIAA regional matchup in Eau Claire on Thursday afternoon. Senior Paige Ommen scored both Hudson goals in the first half.
Despite finishing the season with a better Big Rivers Conference record than Eau Claire North, the Raiders were given the fifth seed while the Huskies got the fourth seed, and home-field advantage in the first round of the WIAA postseason. Hudson Head Coach John Knutson said the seeding snub inspired his players to perform at a high level.
"It's a game we had to win to prove that our conference season record meant something," Knutson said. "We did what we had to do to prove we deserved that fourth seed because of our record. In the end the location of the game wasn't nearly as important as the win."
