Hudson Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting 13-Year-Old Girl

A 30-year-old Hudson man has been charged with three counts of sexual assault of a child under 16 stemming from an incident at his home with a 13-year-old girl in the early-morning hours of Sunday, June 17, 2012.

A 30-year-old Hudson man has been charged with three counts of sexual assault of a child under 16 stemming from an incident at his home with a 13-year-old girl in the early-morning hours of Sunday, June 17, 2012.

According to a criminal complaint filed in St. Croix County Circuit Court on Friday, June 22, Michael J. West performed digital, oral, vaginal and anal sex on the girl against her will at his home on Hanley Road between 4:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. on June 17.

According to the criminal complaint, the girl was on house arrest, but she snuck out of her home at 1 a.m. to meet some people at Walmart. When the other people did not arrive by about 3 a.m. the girl began walking home and ran into a man who agreed to buy her cigarettes.

After getting her cigarettes, the girl headed toward home when she saw West standing on the lawn outside his apartment at about 4:30 a.m. The girl said she knew West from past occurrences of smoking crystal meth together at his apartment with others.

The two talked outside for about 30 minutes before continuing their conversation in West's bedroom where the sexual activity allegedly occurred.

The court has set placed a $25,000 cash bond on West and a preliminary hearing in  is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. on July 2, 2012.*
