Wetzstein, Kromer Win WIAA Sectional Cross Country Meet, Headed to State

The Hudson High School girls cross country team finished second while the boys finished fourth at a WIAA sectional meet held in Tomah on Saturday.

The Hudson High School girls cross country team finished second while the boys finished fourth at a WIAA sectional meet held in Tomah on Saturday, Oct. 22.

In the girls race, Katie Wetzstein finished the 4K race first in 14:49, with Erin Wetzstein (15:30) and Sadie Kroll (15:47) also in the top 15. The team finished with 70 points, second only to River Falls' 38. Both Big Rivers Conference powers qualified for this Saturday's WIAA State Cross Country Meet at The Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.

In the boys race, Ryan Kromer finished the 5K race first in 16:08 to qualify for the state meet. The rest of scorers finished under 18:00. The Raiders finished fourth as a team with 115 points. La Crosse Logan (33) and Eau Claire Memorial (77) earned the trip to state. River Falls (85) was third.
