Student volunteers spent 13 hours overnight in the high school parking lot writing 5,998 names of U.S. service members lost in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Hudson High School student volunteers spent 13 hours overnight in the high school parking lot writing 5,998 names of U.S. service members lost in Afghanistan and Iraq. Students were asked to make the sacrifice of not driving to school on Friday, May 27, as part of the Empty Parking Lot Project.

Project and event organizer Ben Peters, a Hudson High student, served as emcee for a memorial observance ceremony in front of the school. The ceremony included a color guard, a group of national anthem singers, two guest speakers, a rifle team and a bugler.
