Patch Picks: Five Unique Extracurricular Clubs in Hudson

Sports, student council or jazz band may not be for every teenager. At schools in the Hudson School District that's not a problem. Here are five unique clubs and activities at local schools.

Outdoor Club
’s Bristlecone Pine Club (B-Pac) is a club based on the interests of student members. The intent of B-Pac is to get students outside through activities like hiking, backpacking, camping, rock climbing, ice fishing, polar plunge and many others. The club held is throughout the school year and open to all high schoolers.

True Blue Times
Getting the latest news is what high school social lives are all about. Students involved in the production of the student newspaper, True Blue Times, know that well. Creating the paper involves writing articles, columns and editorials, drawing graphics, comics and cartoons, using computer software to build the pages, photography, selling and designing ads, and working in school bookstore.

Diversity Day Committee
The motto of the high school’s Diversity Club is: "See Ourselves, Expand Our Views, Accept Others." The idea behind the group, made of students and staff, is to help students break their social barriers with the National Mix It Up Day at lunch and educate others about various cultures and groups through a two-day cultural production in February. Other goals are to promote the understanding of different races, cultures, ethnicities, remind people equality is a basic American tenant, provide students with an opportunity to experience different schools through the Exchange Program and provide educational entertainment to the school community.
