Photo Gallery: Hudson High School Golf Team Wins WIAA Regional Tournament
Hudson captured first place of eight teams at the WIAA regional golf tournament. The Raiders will golf at the sectional tournament next week. Senior Luke Burback took first place finish with score of 74.
The boys golf team topped the competition with a score of 320 at a Division 1 WIAA regional meet on May 24 at the and will advance to next week’s sectional meet.
The Raiders edged out seven other teams and will travel to Wausau next Tuesday, May 31, for sectionals with regional second-, third- and fourth-place teams, River Falls, Eau Claire North and Superior, respectively.
All five of Hudson’s golfers finished in the top 20 with senior Luke Burback taking first place with a final score of 74. The Raiders' lone junior Ben Lewis placed eighth overall with a score of 79. The 17th, 18th and 19th place finishes respectively went to seniors Jeremy Salentine (83), Jack Holland (84) and Matt Grayes (84).

The other top-five golfers of the meet were Garrett Loomis from River Falls with a Burback-matching score of 74 followed by Eau Claire Memorial’s Nate Webb and Rob Kraft of Superior with identical final scores of 76 and Cody Rozales of New Richmond and his 78 final score.
The season for the teams from Chippewa Falls, New Richmond, Eau Claire Memorial and Menomonie high schools ended at Tuesday’s meet.
