St. Paul Man Charged With Capturing Nude Images of Hudson Women in Their Home
Criminal complaint alleges that the man placed a pen camera in the women's bathroom.

According to a , a St. Paul man has been charged with capturing an image of nudity without consent of two Hudson women in their home.
In the complaint, the State of Wisconsin alleges that on Feb. 18, Joseph D. Hawthorne of St. Paul, who was a friend spending the night, used a camera that looks like a pen to record the women in their bathroom.
Hawthorne initially appeared in St. Croix County District Court on July 6 and has posted bail. In addition to the felony charge, Hawthorne also faces a misdemeanor charge of invasion of privacy using a surveillance device.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Aug. 8, 2011. Hudson attorney is the defense attorney, and Assistant District Attorney Kenneth N. Sortedahl II is the prosecuting attorney. St. Croix County Circuit Judge Eric J. Lundell will preside.
