Child's First daycare in Janesville without a location after April flood (gazettextra.com) — Families in Janesville have one fewer daycare option as Child's First remains without a permanent home after April’s flood at First Lutheran Church and the end of its temporary stay at 1 Parker Place. The nonprofit is searching for an affordable, code-compliant space while parents scramble for alternative care in a tight childcare market and hope the center can reopen by 2027.
   

2. Man sentenced to prison for threats at Beloit residence (fox47.com) — A Janesville-dateline court case has ended with a 54-year-old man receiving three years in state prison and three years of extended supervision for threatening people inside a Town of Beloit home in May. Prosecutors said Jeremy Masoner pleaded guilty to aggravated battery with a domestic abuse modifier and felony bail jumping, while several other charges were dismissed as part of the resolution.
   

3. Habitat for Humanity to build in Beloit for the first time since '08 (gazettextra.com) — New Habitat for Humanity homes are already underway in Janesville as part of a broader Rock County push to ease the housing crunch.
