Here are the top 3 stories in Madison today:

  1. Madison Metropolitan School District will launch a free ACT Prep course for high school juniors. The prep course will help juniors prepare for college applications and offer a more equal system of preparation in that the program will be free for all. In the first week, over 200 juniors have already signed up. As a part of the course, students will receive 16 hours of live instruction from Cambridge ACT Prep. (Channel3000.com - WISC-TV3)
  2. Over the last 14 years, the University of Wisconsin-Madison has given awards to those nominated as outstanding women of color. This year, six women were selected to be honored and their names were announced this week. A campus-wide reception will be held in their honor on Thursday, March 3, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (University of Wisconsin-Madison)
  3. The long-awaited link between Milwaukee-Madison on Amtrak trains could potentially become a reality within the next five years according to the mayor. Funding from the federal infrastructure bill would help make this a reality. (Milwaukee Business Journal)
