- Monday was Indigenous People's Day, and Gov. Tony Evers issued an apology for Wisconsin's role in establishing Indian boarding schools — of which there are at least 10 known in the state. (The Cap Times) To learn more about these schools, check out the Wisconsin Historical Society.
- Volunteers and skating enthusiasts are building a new skatepark themselves. The group, Madison Skatepark Fund, was formed 20 years ago started petitioning the city and raising money for space to skate. (Wisconsin State Journal)
- Slow Pulp, the indie rock band formed in Madison, is going on their first national tour, headlining. They will be playing at the Majestic Theatre on Nov. 4. (Isthmus)
- Have you see students paddling round in pumpkins? I have not, but if you ever do, know it's part of a longstanding tradition for a horticulture class which grows and rides around in large pumpkins they plant themselves. (University of Wisconsin-Madison)
