Here are the top stories in Madison today:

  1. People gathered at the Capitol today at a public hearing regarding the GOP-led Legislature's proposed legislative and congressional maps. Gov. Tony Evers has already said he would veto the maps, which are largely based on the 2011 maps. (Channel3000)
  2. A committee at James Madison Memorial High School has recommend that the school choose to change its name to honor Vel Phillips— an attorney and former Wisconsin Secretary of State. The board is expected to vote on a final decision on Nov. 22.
  3. The Madison Children's Museum opened up its new Wonderground—an outdoor playground. The playground is used of up-cycled, local materials and sits outside the museum at 100 N. Hamilton Street. So far, it is getting good reception from these young (very young) journalists (Wisconsin State Journal)
  4. Student journalists share some of their best (and spookiest) graphics from this past week. (The Daily Cardinal)
