Escanaba throws a monkey wrench into Marines' winning ways (gazettextra.com) — Marinette High’s baseball team saw its six-game win streak snapped at home, falling 7-6 to Escanaba after five costly errors at Pedersen Park. Despite outhitting the Eskymos and rallying late, defensive miscues in cold, windy conditions proved decisive, and Marinette’s record now stands at 6-2 with another game scheduled in town against Sturgeon Bay.

Fincantieri Marinette Marine Receives $30M Navy Contract for LSM Program (seawayreview.com) — A major new U.S. Navy contract is headed to Fincantieri Marinette Marine, bringing $30 million in early work for the Medium Landing Ship program to the Marinette shipyard. The funding covers long-lead materials and production readiness for at least four ships, with full construction expected to start as soon as late 2026 under the Navy’s new Vessel Construction Manager framework.

Sheboygan Man Dies Following Marinette County Crash (seehafernews.com) — Marinette County authorities report that a 66-year-old Sheboygan man has died from injuries suffered in an April 8 crash on Main Avenue in Crivitz. Investigators say speed, alcohol, and not wearing a seatbelt contributed, and Sheriff Randy Miller thanked local fire, rescue, medical, and towing crews from across Marinette County for their response.

Pembine woman arrested after K9 finds nearly 100 grams of meth during traffic stop (fox11online.com) — Nearly 100 grams of meth and other drugs were seized during a Marinette County traffic stop linked to a disturbance on Dam Road in the town of Beecher. A 48-year-old Pembine woman was arrested after K9 Vinny alerted deputies, and multiple drug-related charges have been requested.
