• Frankie D. Lanier (hubcitytimes.com) — Marshfield is mourning the loss of 62-year-old Frankie D. Lanier, a Marine Corps and Army veteran who passed away at home on June 28. Family, friends, and neighbors can pay their respects at an 11 a.m. memorial service on Wednesday, July 15 at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. and military rites to follow.
   

• From Marshfield to Casper: Gukenberger's rodeo journey reaches national stage (hubcitytimes.com) — A Marshfield-raised cowboy is taking his hometown rodeo dreams all the way to the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming. Justin Gukenberger, a Marshfield High School graduate, credits the community for supporting his early rodeo career and says those roots still drive his success as he competes nationally and plans a future in professional rodeo.
   

• Test Outperforms Traditional Tool in Predicting Melanoma Spread to Lymph Nodes (clpmag.com) — A Marshfield Clinic Health System surgical oncologist helped lead a major study showing the DecisionDx-Melanoma i31-SLNB test better predicts whether melanoma has spread to lymph nodes than a traditional risk calculator. For local patients, this could mean fewer unnecessary sentinel lymph node biopsies, fewer complications, and more confidence about when surgery is truly needed, based on tumor biology as well as standard clinical factors.
