• William 'Bill' Pierre Churkey, Jr. (hubcitytimes.com) — Family, friends, and former coworkers are invited to honor William “Bill” Churkey Jr. at a memorial service on Saturday, May 9 at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home on Veterans Parkway in Marshfield, followed by burial at Hillside Cemetery. The longtime Marshfield Door Industry employee and Marshfield Senior High graduate is remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved the outdoors and helping others. 
• Marshfield woman earns college degree at 60 (wsaw.com) — A Marshfield woman who works full time in assisted living has earned her first college degree at age 60, showing it’s never too late to pursue education. After moving to Wisconsin in 2022, she completed an associate degree in medical health management while juggling overnight shifts, inspiring both her residents and grandchildren.
• Wildwood Park and Zoo mourns loss of beloved mountain lion Star (wjfw.com) — Marshfield’s Wildwood Park and Zoo is mourning the loss of Star, its longtime cougar who had been a favorite of visitors since 2008. Staff describe her gentle purr, explain the difficult decision to euthanize her due to age-related health issues, and invite community members to share memories on a poster board in the Welcome Center.
