Volunteers Help Older Adults on Make a Difference Day

Two students from Pius XI High School raked leaves as a part of the 21st Annual Make a Difference Day in Milwaukee on Saturday, November 5. More than 1,000 volunteers spent the morning raking leaves, washing windows and cleaning up yards to help over 350 older adults prepare for the winter months. One third of all older adults live alone, and many cannot complete these outdoor tasks. Make a Difference Day, in collaboration between the Volunteer Center of Greater Milwaukee, a service of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee, and Interfaith Older Adult Programs, was created to help older adults remain independent and in their own homes.
