I decided to participate in DYW because it is a great program. It will provide me with an opportunity to meet new people and also to express myself. This program is a perfect way to be involved in the community and I will give and take a lot out of this wonderful experience.
What or who encouraged or motivated you to participate in the DYW Program?

I received information on the DYW program at high school registration last summer. I had the chance to talk with Dawn Mariscal and John Seymour who explained what DYW was about and answered my questions. Then I talked to girls who participated in it last year and I became very interested.
What do you hope to get out of the program?
Out of this program I hope to get a sense of accomplishment. I will be challenged in many different ways. This program offers a lot of great opportunities that I will take advantage of. Also, I hope to make new friendships and find my full potential.
What is something you would like people to know about you?
I am an active 16-year-old high school student. I work hard in school and take it very seriously. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, exercising, staying active in clubs at school, and preparing for college. I have three, very active, younger brothers and there is always something going on at our house. This is a very exciting time in my life and I feel that it is very important for me to take advantage of the many opportunities that are available.
Welcome to the program Lauren and we look forward to sharing this experience with you.
