Hartford Man Accused of Stealing Falls Woman's Debit Card
Suspect allegedly takes his ex-girlfriend's debit card from her purse while she's sleeping, then withdraws money from a nearby ATM on 11 different occasions.

A 24-year-old Hartford man is facing charges after he allegedly stole his ex-girlfriend’s debit card out of her Menomonee Falls residenc, and then used it to get money at a nearby ATM.
Michael C. Knight was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Friday with 11 counts of identity theft for financial gain and one count of theft. If convicted, he faces up to 67 years in prison and $120,000 in fines.

On or around Sept. 20, Knight was at his ex-girlfriend’s residence in the W16500 block of Main Street when he took her debit card out of her purse while she was sleeping. He then went to a nearby ATM and withdrew cash.
Knight withdrew an unspecified amount of money from the victim’s bank account after making withdrawals on Sept. 20, 22, 26 and 30, along with Oct. 1, 7, 10, 13, 15, 17 and 19.

Officers reviewed surveillance video from the ATM, which showed Knight making the withdrawals from the machine.
Knight is currently out of custody and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
