1. Mequon PD's Traffic Safety Unit now operating (gmtoday.com) — Mequon drivers will see a new, dedicated Traffic Safety Unit on neighborhood streets now through Aug. 15, led by Officer John Ballard. The unit will target speeding hot spots, respond to resident complaints, deploy speed awareness devices, and track data to refine enforcement, while the city also leans on education and engineering to calm traffic.

2. Family leasing Mequon land files lawsuit (gmtoday.com) — A Mequon farming family is suing over a 59-acre Pioneer Road property they leased, arguing they were denied their contractual first chance to buy before it was sold for the new Riverland Meadows subdivision. As construction prep continues and neighbors raise drainage and flooding concerns, the family says their livelihood and the surrounding area are at stake ahead of a Sept. 14 trial.

Health officials warn of smaller ticks in the month of June (spectrumnews1.com) — Health officials are warning Mequon-area residents that June brings a surge of tiny, poppyseed-sized ticks that are especially hard to spot and can spread Lyme disease. New data show tick-related ER visits in Wisconsin are up sharply, and hikers at Mequon Nature Preserve are being urged to take extra precautions and thoroughly check themselves after spending time outdoors.

Visit Milwaukee and Marquette University Partner with Dwyane Wade and Travis Diener for 'Home Court Weekend' Benefiting Milwaukee Youth (facilitiesonline.com) — A high-profile Wade vs. Diener youth basketball camp is coming to The Facility on Executive Court in Mequon on July 17, giving local 3rd–8th graders direct coaching from pros. It’s part of a broader Milwaukee “Home Court Weekend” that blends philanthropy, basketball culture, and support for youth literacy and development programs across the region.
