Work continues along Port Washington Road Corridor (gmtoday.com) — Crews in Mequon are finishing major Port Washington Road corridor upgrades, with new light fixtures already going up and landscaping work about to begin between Zedler Lane and Mequon Road. Funded through local TIF districts, the $2.5 million project also adds a new westbound Donges Bay Road right-turn lane, with completion expected later this month and updates available through the city’s website.
   

2. Mequon releases proposed 2027 budget (gmtoday.com) — Mequon officials have unveiled a proposed 2027 city budget that keeps the property tax rate largely stable while boosting funding for public safety, infrastructure, and the Frank L. Weyenberg Library. The $31.27 million plan includes wage increases for staff, major capital projects for roads and equipment, and continued growth in local TIF districts, with a final Common Council vote set for Nov. 10.
   

3. Mequon congressional candidate arrested after road rage incident involving anti-Israel remarks (tmj4.com) — A Mequon-based Green Party congressional candidate was arrested after an alleged road rage confrontation on Mequon Road that police say included anti-Israel remarks toward a Mequon resident driving his child to school. The incident, captured on video, has drawn condemnation from other 6th District candidates and the Wisconsin Green Party, raising questions for local voters about the candidate’s judgment and conduct.
   

4. Mequon doctor sentenced for illegally distributing prescriptions (gmtoday.com) — A former Mequon emergency room doctor has been sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for illegally prescribing controlled substances from a clinic he ran out of his home. Prosecutors say he issued cash-based prescriptions via phone and text without proper examinations, collecting nearly $295,000 through payment apps and contributing to the region’s drug problems, according to federal authorities.
