Drug Take Back Day is Saturday (gmtoday.com) — You can safely clear out old medications this Saturday at Concordia University on Lake Shore Drive in Mequon, one of two county Drug Take Back Day sites. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents can drop off most household medicines, including liquids and pet prescriptions, helping prevent misuse and keeping pharmaceuticals out of local waterways.
   

2. Cell Towers and License Plate Scanners: How Modern Law Enforcement Tracks Interstate Crime (findlaw.com) — Mequon was one of the communities hit in a 2025 burglary spree that targeted cul‑de‑sac homes and relied on Wi‑Fi jammers and quick getaways. Investigators ultimately tied the crimes to a traveling crew using cell‑tower data and license plate cameras across several states, showing how modern surveillance tools can help solve cases that leave little physical evidence behind.
   

3. WFCA Honors Gruenwald For 50 Years Of Coaching! (dailydodge.com) — A longtime Wisconsin coach who launched his career at Homestead High School in Mequon has been honored with a 50-Year Coaching Award from the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association. Curt Gruenewald went on to decades of teaching and coaching in Beaver Dam, including football, track, and wrestling, and still supports youth football and officiating today.
   

4. Conference of Presidents spring meeting (wels.net) — Leaders of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod recently met to prepare for upcoming assignment days at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, where a large graduating class will help ease worker shortages in churches and schools. They also discussed recruitment, policy updates, and leadership transitions that will shape how pastors and teachers are trained and placed across Wisconsin congregations.
