• Lincoln County Sheriff's Report: June 1, 2026 (tomahawkleader.com) — Lincoln County deputies handled several recent incidents involving Merrill residents, including a tense traffic stop in the City of Merrill that led to multiple bail-jumping charges and resisting arrest. Other cases involved Merrill men arrested on first-offense OWI in nearby townships. Deputies also logged dozens of traffic stops and numerous car-versus-animal crashes across the county. 
• Jeffry Scott Wyland (merrillfotonews.com) — Merrill is mourning the passing of 73-year-old Jeffry Scott Wyland, a lifelong local who was born in Merrill and married at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Known for his humor, craftsmanship, and love of the outdoors, he worked in manufacturing and youth counseling. A celebration of life will be held later, and memorials may be directed to the Lincoln County Humane Society.
