• Garage fire spreads to Town of Ottawa home on Monday (gmtoday.com) — Merton residents may notice how their local fire department supports neighboring communities after a garage fire in the Town of Ottawa spread into a home Monday evening, drawing mutual aid from Merton Fire Department and several others. Crews controlled the blaze within about 40 minutes, no firefighters were hurt, and residents escaped with only minor evaluations for smoke exposure.
