Lake Country School District to Hold Information Sessions Ahead of April 2026 Operational Referendum

Lake Country School District will host three information sessions about the operational referendum question on the April 7, 2026, spring election ballot. The sessions will include a presentation by district leaders about the referendum and its impacts, as well as a Q&A session.

Community members are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and learn more about the referendum on the following dates:

• Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.

• Friday, March 13, 2026 at 8:30 a.m.
  • Location: Lake Country School Library, 1800 Vettelson Road, Hartland, WI 53029
• Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
  • Location: Lake Country School Library, 1800 Vettelson Road, Hartland, WI 53029

The proposed referendum seeks voter authorization to exceed the state-imposed revenue limit by $800,000 per year for four years, beginning with the 2026–2027 school year and concluding with the 2029-2030 school year. If approved, funding will stabilize district finances and allow Lake Country School District to maintain staffing, classes, and essential student programs while continuing to explore and evaluate long-term funding solutions, including potential consolidation with neighboring districts.
